Dracaena 'Tornado' (Dracaena fragrans 'Tornado')
The Tornado earns its name. Its long, arching leaves spiral outward from the center in a dramatic, swirling rosette that gives the plant a sense of perpetual motion — like it's caught mid-spin. The deep green leaves have a bold, architectural presence that works equally well as a floor plant or a statement piece on a large shelf. And like all Dracaenas, it's remarkably tolerant of the conditions that challenge most houseplants: low light, irregular watering, and dry air. It's a plant that looks like it demands attention but actually asks for very little.
Why You'll Love It
- Dramatic spiraling rosette — long, arching leaves radiate outward in a swirling pattern that gives the plant a dynamic, sculptural quality
- Bold architectural presence — makes a strong visual statement as a floor plant or large shelf specimen; fills space beautifully
- Extremely tolerant — handles low light, irregular watering, and dry air better than almost any other houseplant
- Air-purifying qualities — Dracaenas are well-known for filtering indoor air pollutants including formaldehyde and benzene

- Soil: Well-draining potting mix
- Temperature: 60–85°F (15–29°C); keep away from cold drafts
